Write and sign coverage

Coverage turns a read into a document your team can rely on: a top sheet, a gradable grid, a synopsis and comments, and a dual verdict. CoverQueue's editor keeps the script next to your form so you can reference it while you write, and saves as you go.

Start coverage

Open a submission and click Start coverage. The editor is two panes: the script PDF on the left (independent scrolling, text-searchable, collapsible for single-pane focus) and the coverage form on the right, in document order.

The form is driven by your org's template: top-sheet fields, ratings grid, and scale all come from the template snapshot taken when coverage is created.

Fill the form

Work top to bottom:

• Top sheet: fields auto-fill from the submission's metadata where possible.
• Ratings grid: one row per category, on your template's scale.
• Synopsis and comments: light rich text (paragraphs, bold, italics). Guideline chips suggest length ("synopsis typically 1–2 pages").
• Dual verdict: two segmented controls, one For Script, one For Writer.

Sign to lock it

When the draft is ready, click Sign. A confirmation modal restates that signing is permanent and shows your verdicts back to you. Signing:

• Requires the verdicts set and a non-empty synopsis.
• Stamps the document with the signer and date.
• Snapshots the template in use, so later template changes never alter it.

Once signed, the submission becomes covered, and the assigner and execs are notified.

Common questions

Someone else has the draft open. Drafts have an owner, not a live lock. Another person sees a read-only banner; an exec or owner can Take over, which transfers ownership and is logged.

Can an exec sign instead of the reader? Yes. The signer must be the assigned reader or an exec/owner, and whoever signs is recorded.
